Feature & Follow 4

Feature & Follow is a weekly post hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read. They feature two bloggers each week, ask us all a thought-provoking question, and let us all link up our posts so we can all support each other and find some great new blogs to read.

Q: Today’s is the US’ Independence Day. Share your favorite book with a war in it, or an overthrow of the government.

The first answer that comes to mind is Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Also the Hunger Games series – in particular Mockingjay. They would have to tie, although Harry Potter will always be a favourite series. Other novels/series that come to mind are The Codex Alera series by Jim Butcher, and The Iron Fey series by Julie Kagawa.

It’s not always one people think of I suppose, because the real war wasn’t until Deathly Hallows. I really must read the Divergent series that you mentioned though.

Great answers. I need to read both the Hunger Games & Harry Potter. I keep hearing how much I’m missing out.

Once you get going on the Hunger Games you really want to keep finding out what is going to happen next- which is always a good thing. Harry Potter will always be a favourite of mine, I started reading the series in Grade 5 and the last one came out when I was in university, so it’s pretty much a big chapter of my childhood. They’re both really good, but it depends on preference.
